A prostitution sting conducted by the Holden Police Department on Feb. Lovely and three others, including Matthew R. Colby, 39, of Leicester; John M. Dasilva, 44, of Lowell; and David M. Heroux, 66, of Oxford were arrested and charged with sexual conduct for a fee at p. According to the police report which The Landmark obtained from the Leominster District Court, a Holden officer who was working undercover had been in contact with Lovely after he responded to an advertisement on social media offering to engage in sexual conduct for a fee.
The two agreed to meet at the Wong Dynasty. Once a positive identification was made at the meeting location, a call was placed to Lovely's phone to confirm he was the person in question, according to the report. He was then arrested and booked at the Holden Police Department.
According to the report, Lovely admitted to "making arrangements with the undercover officer with the hope of procuring a sexual encounter. Lovely said he answered a Craigslist ad from a woman who was looking to make new friends in Holden.
Lovely headed out to pick up supplies for his business at the same time. The two agreed that Lovely would call the woman when he got to the shopping plaza. Once there, she suggested it would be easier to meet at the Wong Dynasty parking lot, Lovely said. He then asked what kind of car she was driving.
According to Lovely, when he pulled into the restaurant's parking lot, he found 5 or 6 officers waiting to arrest him. Lovely said he considered hiring an attorney, but decided not to drag things out. After he completes the 6-hour program, his case will be dismissed before an arraignment scheduled on March Holden Police Chief David Armstrong said this type of investigation is one the department performs sporadically and the locations are chosen by the department.
